Q: DJ Khaled, a lot of our readers have seen you at concerts with people displaying flags from various Arab speaking countries. Our fans would like to know which country are you from? A: I'm Palestinian Q: Can you speak Arabic? A: A little Q: How did your start your music career? A: I was like 13 just loving music; I loved selecting music you know what I'm sayin'. Tapes, CDs, records I loved being a DJ. Q: How many years did it take for you to blow up and receive the international fame you have achieved?A:About 10 to 15 years Q: You are the most successful mainstream artist from a Middle Eastern background. What advice can you offer to up and coming musicians of Middle Eastern descent who would like to achieve the same success you have? A:Work 24 hours, go hard. Just grind hard man, get the streets hot. Q: Has your Arab roots ever influenced any of the music you have made? A: Yeah, some times when I make beats I mess with little Arabic sounds here and there you know. Q: Was there any one person that gave you the helping hand needed to make it in the music industry? A: Fat Joe Q: Was producing and making music something you always wanted to do? Or did you have other aspirations in life? A: Music was what I always wanted to do. Q: As an artist, did you ever face a point where you reached a "make it or break it momentaz?" Did you ever think you might not actually make it as an artist? A: I knew I was gonna make it as an artist and I knew that in time I would get bigger and bigger and bigger because I was so focused. ![]() Q: Through your struggles, what kept you focused on your goal to succeed as an artist? A: Just going hard man and not letting somebody tell me no. I let them know we gotta make it happen. Q: Can we possibly see DJ Khaled doing something with some Middle Eastern superstars such as Haife Wahbe? A: I don't know, I mean I am down to do whatever man I am down to do whatever, you know. Q: What does COEXISTENCE mean to you? A: It means they put beautiful women on the cover.
